In October, we invite you to join us in taking time to "give back" to the community we live in.
To do this we've selected several groups that help women, children and the hurricane victims.
Support the Girls:
Support the Girls collects and
distributes donations of new/used bras and new sealed packages of tampons and maxi pads to homeless women and girls across the Phoenix area.
Goal: Raise $500 for Support the Girls during October.
Knitted Knockers are a light comfortable knitted prosthetic that when placed in a bra has the shape and feel of a real breast for a women to use after a mastectomy. Knitted Knockers Charities collects and distributes these for free to women across America.
Goal: Collect at the shop 100 pairs of Knitted Knockers during October.
Desiderata Alternative Program serves exceptional students who have needs that are more effectively addressed in a small school environment. The Desiderata program emphasizes academic achievements and helps to support the social, emotional and behavioral development and growth of students. Goal: Collect 300 Hats/Scarfs by October 30th
Hurricanes Harvey and Irma and the associated rainfall have caused unprecedented severe flooding, forcing emergency evacuations and damaging thousands of homes and communities.
Habitat for Humanity will be assessing shelter and housing needs caused by these storms.
Goal: Raise $500 for Habitat for Humanity disaster relief for Harvey and Irma victims.
GIVING BACK TO THOSE WHO DONATE
For every hat, scarf, pair of Knitted Knockers or $5 you donate, we'll give you a ticket to win one of over $300 worth of prizes.
